Mardi Gras Southeast Texas

Mardi Gras SETX Annual Family Event

In April 1990, two friends started Mardi Gras of Southeast Texas, which, after three years of planning and collaboration with 18 non-profit organizations, held its successful first event in February 1993. The mission was to benefit non-profit groups, stage a family-oriented affair, promote diversity and racial harmony, and serve as an economic development project.

Mardi Gras of Southeast Texas, Inc. received non-profit status in 1992 and operates as a volunteer organization with over 750 volunteers annually. RMA Credit Association donated a facility in 1993, housing the Mardi Gras Store, where proceeds benefit member organizations.

The Majestic Krewe of Aurora, organized with Mardi Gras of Southeast Texas, hosts an elaborate ball and grand parade, offering membership. The event, known as “A Family Affair,” includes State Fair Carnival Rides, Kid Zone, Street Entertainment, Concerts, Parades, and over 50 Food & Arts and Crafts vendors.

Carnival weekend features continuous concerts on multiple stages, various parades, and exciting attractions. The invitation is extended to participate and support Southeast Texas’ premier festival in Downtown Beaumont at the Great Lawn.
